Bishop Guerard des Lauriers Biography, Beliefs, Heresies and Practices Exposed

Michel Louis Guerard des Lauriers (1898 – February 27, 1988) was a Dominican priest and theologian and, in later life, a self-professed traditionalist-sedeprivationist Catholic bishop.

Characters of the Intervention: des Lauriers (1898-1988)

On May 7, 1981 Bishop Ngo Dinh Thuc consecrated one Fr. Michel Louis Guerard des Lauriers a bishop. 1933 - in Belgium des Lauriers taught philosphy at the university of Le Saulchoir and there served as a dominican priest.

Guérard was assigned professorship at the pontifical Lateran University in Rome during the pontificate of Pope Pius XII, the date of which is unknown, and was also a member of the pontifical academy of St. Thomas D' Aquine. While there a professor, the heretical second Vatican Council was called by Antipope John XXIII, after which, Guérard was a principle author of a work [the Ottaviani Intervention] critical of the New Mass to be promulgated by the Council's decree.

Some time around 1970 Paul VI had him booted out of the university; it seems he was not modernist enough to contribute anything worthwhile to the Vatican II agenda.

Expelled from Rome, des Lauriers went to a notorious "traditionalist", Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, and applied to join his ranks in "preserving" the timeless traditions of the Catholic Church. Lefebvre placed him in his St. Pius X Seminary in Écône, Switzerland, as a professor and lecturer, where in 1977, he was expelled by Lefebvre for his sedevacantist views on the papacy—that the Chair of Peter might be vacant because "Pope" Paul VI was guilty of heresy. Some time later, des Lauriers developed a postulation known as the Cassiciacum Thesis. This thesis espoused papa materialiter non formaliter ideology, that the papal claimant, and his 3 predecessors did not hold the fullness of the Papacy due to their modernist views, an idea that has come to be called Sedeprivationism.

Des Lauriers believed that the validity of new rites of consecration and ordination were also doubtful or outright invalid, and, in order to ensure the continuation of a valid line of Orders, and after Guérard des Lauriers agreed to abate his Sedeprivationism and adhere to the theoretical tenets of Sedevacantism, it was agreed that “Archbishop” emeritus Ngo Dinh Thuc would consecrate him as a bishop. He was subsequently consecrated a bishop in a private ceremony in Toulon, France on May 7, 1981 by Mgr. Pierre Martin Ngo Dinh Thuc. Shortly after, Guérard des Lauriers reiterated his Sedeprivationism and commenced a polemical war with the Sedevacantists, including Ngô Đình Thuc and Drs. Heller and Hiller.

Des Lauriers went on to consecrate Fr. Gunther Storck, Fr. Robert Fidelis McKenna, and Fr. Franco Munari as Bishops.

Guérard des Lauriers died in Étiolles, France, in 1988 at the age of 90.

The Heretical Sedeprivationism/Cassiciacum Thesis

The ridiculous and heretical Formaliter/Materialiter position, also known as the Sedeprivationism or Cassiciacum Thesis formulated by the Thucite Bishop Michel-Louis Guérard des Lauriers, is not the sedevacante position, as those who hold it will readily admit. They who hold this position believe that John Paul II is the pope, and he is not the pope. They believe he is formally not the pope, meaning he has no authority or jurisdiction, while at the same time he is materially the pope, meaning he physically occupies the Chair of Peter; that he is physically the pope, but not spiritually (no jurisdiction or power). Thus they have a body without a soul ruling the Church, a corpse ruling the Church. That is why it is a ridiculous position, because it insults common sense. It is also heretical because it denies the infallible teachings of the Vatican Council of 1870, that a pope has primacy, supreme power, and jurisdiction over the universal Church.

The First Vatican Council, Sess. 4, Chap. 3, July 18, 1870: “1. That Apostolic See and the Roman Pontiff hold primacy over the whole world… full power to feed, rule, and guide the universal Church… 9. If anyone thus speaks, that the Roman Pontiff has only the office of inspection or direction but not the full and supreme power of jurisdiction over the universal Church, not only in things which pertain to faith and morals, but also in those which pertain to discipline and government… let him be anathema.”

Thus, to say that there can be such a thing as a pope without primacy, supreme power, and jurisdiction is heresy and those who obstinately teach it despite being aware of this information are heretics. This is the position, the Cassiciacum Thesis.

Cassiciacum Thesis

Since being consecrated a bishop by Guerard des Lauriers, McKenna has been one of the main promoters of the Cassiciacum Thesis (also called Sedeprivationism) developed by his consecrator, which states that the papal claimants since Paul VI have not been true popes due to their public heresies, but have only been papa materialiter. According to McKenna, by teaching that men have a "natural right" to worship as they see fit, the successors of John XXIII have attempted to put the heresy of ecumenism in place of Catholicism. Referring to this heresy as "a spiritual insanity," he wrote in, On Keeping Catholic:

"Now while the Popes of Vatican II, including the present Benedict XVI, can function on the purely natural level in running the Church as an organization or legal corporation, they have on the supernatural level - in view of their spiritual madness - no divine authority to speak for the Church as the Mystical Body of Christ or to govern the faithful in His name; no power [of jurisdiction], that is to say, to function precisely as the Vicar of Christ for so long as this insanity continues. They and the bishops under them, blindly following them, are lacking the jurisdiction they would otherwise have under normal circumstances. We must simply ignore them and carry on as best as we can without them."

Although he is sometimes classified as a sedevacantist or a sedeprivationist, McKenna considers himself to be a Roman Catholic bishop just dealing with the Church crisis of the present day.

Some Heresies from the Second Vatican Council Proving that the Vatican II “Church” and “Popes” cannot be legitimate

Vatican II document, Nostra aetate # 3: “The Church also looks upon Muslims with respect. They worship the one God living and subsistent, merciful and almighty, creator of heaven and earth, who has spoken to humanity and to whose decrees, even the hidden ones, they seek to submit themselves wholeheartedly, just as Abraham, to whom the Islamic faith readily relates itself, submitted to God… Hence they have regard for the moral life and worship God in prayer, almsgiving and fasting.”

Here we find Vatican II teaching that Muslims worship the one God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. This is similar to, but slightly different from, the heresy in Lumen Gentium. The false god of the Muslims (which is not the Trinity) didn’t create Heaven and Earth. The Most Holy Trinity created Heaven and Earth.

Pope St. Leo IX, Congratulamur vehementer, April 13, 1053: “For I firmly believe that the Holy Trinity, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, is one omnipotent God, and in the Trinity the whole Godhead is co-essential and consubstantial, co-eternal and co-omnipotent, and of one will, power, majesty; the creator of all creation, from whom all things, through whom all things, in whom all things which are in heaven or on earth, visible or invisible. Likewise I believe that each person in the Holy Trinity is the one true God, complete and perfect.”

Perhaps the most striking heresy in the whole of Vatican II is found in Lumen Gentium 16.

Vatican II document, Lumen Gentium # 16: “ But the plan of salvation also embraces those who acknowledge the Creator, and among these the MOSLEMS are first; they profess to hold the faith of Abraham AND ALONG WITH US THEY WORSHIP THE ONE MERCIFUL GOD WHO WILL JUDGE HUMANITY ON THE LAST DAY.”

Antipope Paul VI, Address, Dec. 2, 1977: “… the Moslems (who) profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day, as the Second Vatican Council solemnly declared.”

Antipope John Paul II, New Catechism (paragraph 841): “… Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”

Antipope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium (# 252), Nov. 24, 2013: “Islam... they “profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, who will judge humanity on the last day...”

This is an amazing blasphemy! Catholics are worshippers of Jesus Christ and the Most Holy Trinity; the Muslims are not!

(Muslims reject the Divinity of Jesus Christ)     (Christians worship Jesus as God)

A child can understand that we don’t have the same God.

Pope Gregory XVI, Summo Iugiter Studio (# 6), May 27, 1832: “Therefore, they must instruct them in the true worship of God, which is unique to the Catholic religion.”

Pope St. Gregory the Great: “The holy universal Church teaches that it is not possible to worship God truly except in Her...”

Some people attempt to defend this awful heresy of Vatican II by asserting that Muslims acknowledge and worship one all-powerful God. They argue thus: There is only one God. And since Muslims worship one all-powerful God – not many deities, as the polytheists – they worship the same all-powerful God that we Catholics do.

If it were true that Muslims worship the same God as Catholics because they worship one, all-powerful God, then anyone who professes to worship one, all-powerful God worships the one true God together with Catholics. There is no way around that. That would mean that those who worship Lucifer as the one true and all-powerful God worship the same God as Catholics! But this is clearly absurd. This should prove to anyone that the teaching of Vatican II is heretical. Those who reject the Holy Trinity don’t worship the same God as those who worship the Holy Trinity!

It’s clearly a denial of the Most Holy Trinity to assert that Muslims worship the true God without worshipping the Trinity. Secondly, and even worse when considered carefully, is the astounding statement that Muslims worship the One Merciful God Who will judge humanity on the last day! This is an incredible heresy. Muslims don’t worship Jesus Christ, who is humanity’s supreme judge on the last day. Therefore, they don’t worship God who will judge mankind on the last day! To say that Muslims do worship God who will judge mankind on the last day, as Vatican II does in Lumen Gentium 16, is to deny that Jesus Christ will judge mankind on the last day.

Pope St. Damasus I, Council of Rome, Can. 15: “ If anyone does not say that HE (JESUS CHRIST) WILL COME TO JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD, HE IS A HERETIC.”

In his July 10, 2013 message to Muslims for the end of Ramadan, Antipope Francis said: “esteem and friendship for all Muslims, especially those who are religious leaders. … Christians and Muslims, we are called to respect the religion of the other, its teachings, its symbols, its values. Particular respect is due to religious leaders and to places of worship. … think and speak respectfully of other religions and their followers, and to avoid ridiculing or denigrating their convictions and practices. … Happy Feast to you all!” (From the Vatican, Pontifical Messages, 10 July 2013)

To esteem and respect false religions, its teaching or its adherence as Francis does is condemned in Catholic teaching. In fact, to esteem and respect false religions that rejects Jesus Christ and the Trinity is equivalent to denying and disrespecting the Divinity of Jesus Christ, the Trinity, the Divine Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, etc. It is apostasy from the Catholic Faith. As Pope Pius XI taught in Mortalium Animos (# 2), Jan. 6, 1928: “… it clearly follows that one who supports those who hold these theories and attempt to realize them, is altogether abandoning the divinely revealed religion.”

See: Antipope Francis’ Heresies, The Apocalypse & The End of the World (Jorge Bergoglio Exposed)

In Quanta Cura, Pope Pius IX also condemned the idea that every man should be granted the civil right to religious liberty.

Pope Pius IX, Quanta Cura (# 3), Dec. 8, 1864: “From which totally false idea of social government they do not fear to foster THAT ERRONEOUS OPINION, most fatal in its effects on the Catholic Church and the salvation of souls, called by Our predecessor, Gregory XVI, an insanity, NAMELY, THAT ‘LIBERTY OF CONSCIENCE AND WORSHIP IS EACH MAN’S PERSONAL RIGHT, WHICH OUGHT TO BE LEGALLY PROCLAIMED AND ASSERTED IN EVERY RIGHTLY CONSTITUTED SOCIETY…”

But Vatican II teaches just the opposite:

Vatican II document, Dignitatis humanae # 2: “This Vatican synod declares that the human person has a right to religious freedom. Such freedom consists in this, that all should have such immunity from coercion by individuals, or by groups, or by any human power, that no one should be forced to act against his conscience in religious matters, nor prevented from acting according to his conscience, whether in private or in public, within due limits… This right of the human person to religious freedom should have such recognition in the regulation of society as to become a civil right.”

Vatican II document, Dignitatis humanae # 2: “Therefore this right to non-interference persists even in those who do not carry out their obligations of seeking the truth and standing by it; and the exercise of this right should not be curtailed, as long as due public order is preserved.”

Vatican II teaches that religious liberty should be a civil right, which is directly condemned by Pope Pius IX. Vatican II also says that this right to religious liberty applies to public, as well as private, expression; and that no one should be prevented from the public expression or practice of his religion. The teaching of Vatican II is direct heresy against the infallible teaching of Pope Pius IX and a host of other popes. The teaching of Vatican II on religious liberty could literally have been added to the errors of the Syllabus of Errors condemned by Pope Pius IX.
